Southern California Mountains and Canyons
There are a variety of mountainous areas that are fun to explore with your ATV or motorcycle. There’s Alamo Mountain near Frazier Park, Arroyo Salado Low Hills next to the Ocotillo Wells off-road area, and Ballinger Canyon. Closer to San Diego are Lark Canyon and Corral Canyon. If you plan to go into a canyon this summer, be sure you take lots of water.

You can explore mountain trails like San Jacinto, Butler Peak Snow Slide Road, Holcomb Valley Road, Lytle Creek Ridge Road, Monument Road, Red Hill Truck Trail, Sawmill Ridge Road, the Santa Rosa Truck Trail, and Thomas Mountain Trail.
